About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel by land/sea from Portugal to Japan and build a blog that can finance my travels indefinitely.
ABOUT ME
Hi there, I'm Tello! I was born in Texas and grew up outside of Houston in a small city called Katy. While in college I studyied abroad in Milan, Italy for six months and I have never been able to shake the desire to continue traveling and seeing the world.
After graduation, I headed off to New York City to work as a consultant. NYC is a fantastic place to live (if you can afford it) and I have loved every minute of it, but the long hours of work were getting to me. In June I left my job for a year long trip across the world from Portugal to Japan.
PHILOSOPHY
"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness...Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of earth all of one's lifetime." - Mark Twain
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Unfortunately I am currently living a very nomadic life and haven't had a chance to host people yet. Once I settle down and actually own a couch it will be posted right here.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed once when I was in London. It was one of the strangest and most fantastic experiences of my life. I never would have guessed that there are people out there that welcome you into their homes with open arms and immediately treat you as best friends. While the experience was somewhat terrifying at first, it has definitely left a lasting impression on me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have realized that I am a sucker for scenery...
1) Lago Di Como - I traveled to the city of Bellagio and was simply awestruck with how beautiful it was.
2) Cinque Terre - The chain of 5 cities along the wester coast of Italy was not only beautiful, but you actually had to work to get from one city to another. I really enjoyed hiking from each city and then being able to jump in the blue water and just appreciate these little towns that seemed to just be carved into the side of the hills.
3) Paris - I know it is a little bit cliche, but I will never forget the first time I visited. I was mesmerized by all of the wonderful architecture, the amazing museums, the delicious food, and the overall layout of the city. Everything was neat and in its place and all around just a pretty city to be in.
