About Me
burlesque bike passport
Those were the three words my phone suggested when I started wroting this bio- of all my travelling companions, my phones gone with me furthest, it probably knows me best.
I was raised on burlesque. About 45 minutes away from where I grew up, there was a lesbian cafe/bar that never IDed at the door, and I was there almost every week, just to drink in the atmosphere. They would have heart rending poetry slams, rackous improv comedy and, of course, the dancers. It was there I really learned what culture was, and how a little pockets of it could exist worlds apart from what was around them. There is where I learned to love all over again, to love the unfamilar and to love what I could learn about with my eyes and ears and my own two hands. I think that's where my passion for travel really came from.
Bike... Hm. Biking has never really been a huge passion for me, though I don't stay anywhere more then a month without getting my hands on ọne. I like the principle of the thing, harnessing your own power more efficently to get around as apposed to relying on dinosaur juice, but I guess I won't be doing much of it until I settle down for school in september. That being said, I guess there are bike shares everywhere, so who knows?
Passport- seems pretty straightforward. Mine was getting pretty packed before it dissappeared. Full disclosure, my phones original suggestion was "pork staff-directory", but I figured that would give a poor first impression.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why not? New experiences, new people, all good things on here, or so I'm told. My friends in Stephenville said they had to turn away some people due to lack of space, so hopefully I can fill a need when I get back. I'm going to be touring the US most of the summer, and this seemed like a good way to fill in the gaps in my itenerary without breaking the bank.
