About Me

Hey there :) my name is Dorian and I’m a 20 year-old kid from Germany out here to explore. As of October, I will study Sports Science and Sports Psychology in Cologne, Germany. But still, traveling has always been a part of my family‘s lifestyle and therefore, I took the last year (my gap year) as an opportunity to travel the world on my own. I grew up playing team sports and participating in group events (summer camp, playing in a band). I love going out there to meet new people, I can’t wait to meet hosts and surfers from all over the world!!!

Concerning my lack of references: I just started being part of the Couchsurfing community. You will not regret having me as a guest. I have long lasting relationships with the hosts that offered me a place to stay on my travels. I have great Workaway/WOOFING experiences so I would appreciate a chance to prove that I‘m a low-maintenance, easy-going type of guy :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can’t wait to socialize in a new environment which is why I consider Couchsurfing the best platform for me and my travel purposes. I didn’t download the app for budget reasons, I simply hope for more interesting, authentic experiences with locals that took the great step to open their doors for travelers from all over the world !

Music, Movies, and Books

The music I listen to ranges from American Hip/Hop to classical music, mix it with a little R‘nB, EDM or even country! I listen to it all depending on the occasion.
I love to read autobiographies, „travel-themed“ novels and German classic literature. I loved the old James Bond movies, but when it comes to movies, I don’t really have any preferences…I just like to laugh :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most exciting adventure were probably the 5 months I spent backpacking in Central America. But what really shaped me in my earlyier years as a teenager was my time in Canada at the age of 16. I spent half a year with a host family and went to highschool in Vancouver. It definitely had a huge impact on me and fueled the love for traveling and sharing experiences with people from all over the place.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have everything to learn and I will always listen! I only have limited skills to teach but I will do my best to share the amount of knowledge I have acquired at my young age. I can teach to play the ukulele, the drums or the piano. I know a lot about nutrition and physical activity…but I‘m eager to learn as much as I can from as many people as possible.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can’t wait to share smiles, laughs, stories, humor, a home, some food, but most importantly: I can’t wait to share the time I spend in a new environment with someone who offers a place to stay for travelers like me. Someone who shares that passion of sharing all sorts of things and thoughts!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Canada, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Greece, Italy, Kenya, Montenegro, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, United States
