About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a friendly and open minded person, woodworker and climber, with a great desire to create, surround myself with people i can trust, care about, or just feel good with :)
And I am currently not accepting guests becomes I am on a journey:)

PHILOSOPHY

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "WOW, what a ride!" "....sometimes you just got to " stand and fight, live by your heart, always one more try".....is.." something unpredictable, but in the end is right,i hope i'll have the time of my life"..in the end, we are here to experiment..

"Yesterday is already a matter of past, unchangeable, tomorrow haven't started yet, doesn't exist; the present is all you got, be creative"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am here to meet people and share our passions; also, to provide help, if help is needed:)

Dear beautiful people,

My name is Dorin and I am from Romania :) One year ago, in September 2017, I started volunteering in Kaunas, Lithuania, (in the frame of the EVS programme) in a climbing gym, Miegantys Drambliai (Sleeping Elephants) :)

I also brought my dog, Lisa, with me, a really friendly and calm friend, similar to border collie breed :) Bringing her with me from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, was an exciting experience, we came by car (carpooling) and we were helped by a lot of amazing people to reach our new destination, Kaunas :)

Lisa Monalisa was also pregnant, and in November 26th 2017 she gave birth to 9 cute furry beings. Together with my housemates (we were 5 EVS volunteers living in a house) we took care of them and found them new families, really beautiful people from Lithuania :) It was an amazing experience, with happy and also uncomfortable moments, which I was able to overcome only with a lot of help from friends.

Given that I don't have a driving license and hoping to a bit more independence in travelling with Lisa, I decided to build a bike trailer, which would make transportation easier:) Therefore, from May 2018 until now, September 2018, I worked on the cosy trailer which I decide to call "Lisamobil" :)

My EVS project ended at the end of August and I learned a lot of things - about interaction with kids, persons with (so called) disabilities, about climbing competitions and administration of a climbing gym.

Having finished the bike trailer and the beautiful volunteering experience, the time came to say goodbye to lithuanian land and amazing friends that I made here and fulfill the destiny of the "Lisamobil", to take me and Lisa back to Romania. A trip of around 1500 km, partly on bike trails (like Eurovelo), partly on normal car roads.

We will cross Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary and get to Romania hopefully in the end of September :)
We got a lot of help from friends, with making our trip easier - food, equipment, support without which things would've been pretty complicated..

Generally, we will travel from morning until late afternoon and then look for places to park the trailer for the night. It would be great if some of you could give us shelter and we would be more than happy to spend time with you, share thoughts about experiences and have nice moments together:)

Thank you all for helping me and I am looking forward to meet you! :)
