About Me

I have never hosted anyone because no one is ever coming to Newcastle. I moved to Taipei in Taiwan on October 2020 and study there.

I'm full of energy and like to engage with people.:) I love talking, partying, making new friends, I am open to everybody.
I really enjoy history and politics, I love meeting people who can present me some history of their country, habits, customs. I love places with long traditions and it's own story to be told. Exchanging that kind of knowledge is the best thing for me to do. 👌
Until recently I studied at Newcastle University in northern England. It is a nice place, windy but not rainy and usually strongly smelling with burgers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Mainly to search for a company. If you come, please go for a beer/tea with me at least once. And talk. :) It is also a nice way to travel for a student, allows you to meet nice people and makes your trip very special.
I am absolutely NOT interested in having any affairs through Couchsurfing. I will NOT have 'unlimited' fun with you, no matter how handsome you are. I am not accepting ANY friend request from people I don't know. If I don't know you, DON'T send me a friend request, I will ignore it anyway (no matter how handsome you are).

Interests

History, politics, literature, travelling, languages and so on. :)
I prefer small, forgotten places to big and crowded ones.
I love old ruins, old castles, small places with some nice nature.
I tend to think that the poorer and less touristic the place is, it is often (but of course not always) more interesting than those big and popular ones. Go where not everybody would go, explore something forgotten.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Only one? :)

I escaped a bomb alarm in Israel.

I once slept on the street in Beijing cause I couldn't find any transport to my place (it was very late) and no taxi drivers wanted to take me, telling me my place was too far away.

I hitchhiked to Finland from Poland (and the way back) together with my friend, it was pretty cool! Experiencing the famous white nights (and the famous Finnish mixed sauna), sleeping on Estonian beaches (and under fences of local houses), being hosted by random and extremely kind Polish nuns in a monastery in Vilnius. In Lublin we were invited by some monks to have a barbecue with them xD (it was the only one time in that year when their yard was open for other people).

In Lviv me and my friend had such a nice host that we postponed our tickets to Kyiv to stay with him longer. Then in Kyiv we were hosted one night by a random Ukrainian who we met the same day. The rest of the time we spent with my friend in a flat right next to Maidan.

My hitchhiking tour around Czech Republic contained sleeping in the bushes nearby a motorway together with my friend.

I went to live in China (Xiamen) for a scholarship programme.

Once I hitchhiked alone around the middle-northen areas of Taiwan and was hosted by an American guy, who lived alone in Taiwanese mountains near Taichung in a plastic cabin (I had never seen such giant spiders before and hadn't eaten so many weird plants...) After that I was given a ride by a wonderful Hakka lady and together with her was invited for a meal by a local police station in Puli (which contained salted octopus in bamboo shots). After that hitchhiked via Taroko National Park and got to the level of clouds and snow. :)

Survived two weeks alone in Korea during winter sleeping at my hosts' places and in saunas (jjimjillbang).

I was given a lift by the police (three times, in Czech Republic, Korea and Albania), a gun carriage, a truck (several times), a bus full with pensioners and a minibus in China together with six other friends.

In Hong Kong together with my friend I entered a conference of a French football team, pretending that we were part of their crew. Did it just for fun.

I also hitchhiked in Albania in a group of four people. Yes, four people. When in Albania, everything becomes possible. I was also hosted there by random villagers completely for free. Lovely experience.

I slept on a deck of my ferry from Italy to Albania and woke up almost completely wet.

I slept on the floor of an old pizzeria in Kosovo. It had a lot of spiders. I am getting used to those spiders. Also, we were hosted by a Serbian monk a day before who left us stay in his monastery. A lovely person.

I moved to Taiwan during the pandemic and quarantined there. I made a YouTube video about it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some of my languages if you want. Or just choose any thing mentioned in my profile. :) If you are Spanish, please speak Spanish with me. If you are Chinese, speak Chinese. If you are Russian, please teach me some. If I am your guest, we speak whatever you want. ;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

My friendship and my good mood (available almost all the time 😊).
I also like to cook so it may happen that I feed you as well but I don't promise anything. :) Unless you ask me!
