Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any couschsurfing experience, but I participated in two student exchanges in the highschool: with a girl from Freiburg (Germany) and another one from Creil (France). It was great! I got to know two different nice families and the girls visited me later in Poland.

Interests

Reading! Especially detective stories and fantasy novels. However, when I travel, I prefer an active attitude: sightseeing, trekking, getting to know new sites. I like to cook, but first of all I adore to try new dishes and tastes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: especially jazz and world music. My favourite groups/singers are: Sting, Anna Maria Jopek, Diana Krall, but also the old Marillion and Dire Straits.
Books: detective stories (ex. Lyndsay Davis, Elizabeth George, Ellis Peters), fantasy novels (ex. Robert Jordan, Tad Williams, G.G. Kay)
Movies: comedies, especially European (French, Scandinavian) ex. "Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis" (Welcome to the Sticks), "Good Bye Lenin!", "When Harry met Sally"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a person who always is crying about happy endings, weddings and babies. So, naturally, the most important moment for me was the birth of my son. He is now a stubborn but charming three-year-old monkey ;)
Other moment, sad this one, was in the high school when we were visiting Majdanek with one of the last survivors of this concentration camp, relating his ordeal and how he survived a gas chamber. Few months later, I participated in his funeral, grieving for him.
Travelling, I remember very well when I was visiting Strasbourg for the first time. I was strolling the medieval old city when, in front of me, the cathedral sprang up. It's not the most beautiful nor the biggest one but its sudden appearance left me really awestruck.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal

Countries I’ve Lived In
