I am originally from Alaska. I moved to Washington where I got my college degree. In that time I got to study abroad and took some time off as well to do my own traveling.

I study Environmental Science and am very passionate about sustainable agriculture, mycology, and biology. I am hoping to find a good grad program so I can move to Europe.

I am traveling a bit of Europe, focusing on the Mediterranean. Then going to the Middle East and northern Africa. We'll see what comes of the trip from there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hello there!

I am on Couchsurfing to gain a more in-depth experience of travel. I love to meet locals and hear the real stories and culture of a place. Hostels are fun but they lack a deeper meaning.

I hope to meet interesting people and see a more native point of view while I travel. I would love to explore, go out, eat good food, and do all of the wonderful things that make us human.

I can't stand to sit still for too long and I love to explore and hike all that mother nature offers. I am physically expressive and my forms of expression are cooking, drawing, and dance.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to books, video games, shows and movies I am an absolute fan of fantasy. Legend of Zelda, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Mass effect, and Star Wars.

I love electronic music, simply because it's my favorite to dance too. But I like all types of music, instrumental, classical, rock, hip-hop, etc. Music is meant to be watched live!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studied abroad in the Amazon Rainforest and the Peruvian Andes for 6 months. I conducted field research on rainforest ecology and evolutionary biology. This experience changed my life.

So I took a gap year from school and traveled solo throughout Southeast Asia for 6 months. I gained a lot of confidence in myself during this time and learned how to be self-sufficient. There was so many ups and downs, amazing experiences and scary moments and through it all I only had myself to figure things out. Really incredible.

Then I went and studied in Peru again. Now that I am finished with my degree I am traveling through Europe, the Middle East, and Africa! I can't seem to shake the adventure bug.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am interested in hearing about different world views, politics, sciences, cultures, and life experiences. Please share your knowledge with me, I love to debate and share ideas.

I'm not sure what I can teach, but I am a genuine person with lots of stories and a good listening ear as well. My favorite thing about traveling is learning different cuisines so that is something we can share as well.

I just got a drone and a new camera, I am going to try and start making travel videos but I am not that skilled. I would love to help someone with photography and videography projects and learn through helping. It's something that really interests me and is a powerful art form.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am friendly, inquisitive and I love to cook! I was raised to be very polite and am in no way shape or form a freeloader. I need to clean, cook and be helpful to feel comfortable in your home.
