About Me
CURRENT MISSION
doubikdondek is a team of 2 siblings traveling part of the world. Starting out in North America, moving across the Atlantic and onward to Europe and Asia, we look for a positive learning experience with open minds.
ABOUT ME
Hey all!
Edouard and I are siblings (brother and sister) backpacking through many parts of the world, starting in the USA. We are going from Maryland all the way up to Washington state, going through the southern states.
We wish to meet and help people in exchange for shelter and experience, with hopes of creating good bonds along the way.
We are 27 and 24 years old. We were raised in a solid family of seven, we are respectful, honest, non-competitive, and love animals and insects. We are fluent in French and English with basic German (Charlotte) and basic Spanish. We make a good team and are hard workers but we do like to relax as well.
We do not adhere to a special diet.
We like to share stories, laughter, and even questions about all that exists.
PHILOSOPHY
We are traveling to discover the world anew, open our minds and learn through experience. We are positive and curious, hoping to share with like-minded people along the way. We mean good and are respectful.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We can cook, we can carry and move heavy things, we can laugh and tell stories, and share in-depth conversations.
We travel with our own sleeping bags, so no bedding required. We can sleep on the floor.
We are orderly and know how to be quiet and respectful to others, and have no problem keeping to ourselves when necessary.
Low-manitenance, easy-going...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None, but we've heard a lot of good things, and we mean well.
We hope to build a lot of experience, ad look forward to hosting after travels.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
So grateful for being close to our family!
Every time we eat Mama's food.
Snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.
First time riding the Tower of Doom at Six Flags!
(Charlotte): A dolphin playfully jumped up in the air right in front of me as I was on kayak off the coast of the Outer Banks, NC!
My sister and I were in a two-seat kayak trying to keep up with a group of dolphins. As they seemed to gain speed ahead of us, we decided to leave them alone; perhaps they were trying to lose us.. I got really nervous as I noticed a large dark shape pass under the kayak... then a dolphin jumped up out of the water right in front of us! I was so amazed by this glimpse of playful communication..
(Edouard): Hubo (the goose in our photos) fell ill in winter 2010 with a mysterious form of paralysis (unable to keep any balance, and therefore incapable of walking, drinking, and eating). The thought of putting him out of his misery came up several times, but we didn't have the courage to do it. After hand-feeding him for over a month, and picking him up, forcing him to practice walking, he fully recovered and is now miraculously strong, and a loyal friend to the family, to Edouard especially. Goes to show that hope and help are extremely important.
Poltergeist activity experienced over a ten-year period at an old house we used to live in near Washington, DC.
