Hi, I’m Doudou.
I am volunteering in Jerusalem for one year.
My name has several meanings in different languages: In Mandarin (the standard language of mainland China) it means little bean,
in Taiwanese it means yogurt,
in French it means stuffed animals.... sooo, my name is very international ;)

I am a day drinker, a vegetarian and do classical boxing training, but I am a beginner. Right now I am trying to live more sustainable by consume less (single use) plastic and animal produce.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Last year i travelled in China with two friends of mine.
We met wonderful people through couchsurfing, who spend time with us, helped us at difficult situations and some even shared their place with us.
It was such a powerful experience of solidarity!

Commercialized traveling tends to separate the place itself and a kind of idealized culture from the people living there and their story. I am interested in different ways people live and in their lifes, struggles.

Interests

I loving trying things outside my comfort zone, which is tbh too narrow for the way I want to live. Discussion lover, future cat lady and overthinker, but in a nice way?

I like a pretty wide range of music for different occasions:
Rap and hiphop (mostly German ones):

Pop and Pop-ish Music: Tessa Violet, Billie Eilish, Ivy Levan, Zolita, Taylor Swift
Punk and hardcore: Bikini kill, Petrol girls, Moscow Death Brigade
(I really like female vocals)

Moving pictures I like:
Mean Girls, Gossip Girl, Scream Queens and every other trashy teenager and/or coming of age stuff
It's therapeutic for me!
I have stared watching Mrs. Maisel and it's just too good to not share it here: Watch it!
I also like horror movies / thrillers, but I am r e a l l y afraid of it. So it’s a tough relationship.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My volunteer year, that I am doing now, is the amazing thing for me: I couldn't imagine it's huge impact on me as a person.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you catcalling catcallers, a little bit of Chinese (Mandarin) or German and how to cook with a microwave only. (and how to repair small damages on clothing)

I would like to improve my language skills, learn more about photography, street art and theatre. I would also like to learn more about material art and self defense in general.

As a sweet tooth I always have some snacks with me to share!
