About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning more about permaculture, forest gardening, Spanish, French, Gaelic, playing the pipes, patience!

ABOUT ME

We (wife and daughter) live in a small town/village near Middlebury. Our town has a great Inn and gastropub so we have great food and drink close by. We communally garden with our neighbours. Have a ancient cat and somewhat neurotic dog. Doing lots of work in the garden and on our old house (like painting or more prepping for painting!). We like music, arts, travelling, biking. Hope to do more kayaking this year. Went back to B.C. this summer. Paris looms in the near future.

PHILOSOPHY

Somewhat anarchistic but still think the government should be involved somehow. Nature is our guide if only we'd listen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are not currently able to host people on our couch but would love to be a guide, provider of coffee and point people towards events and places to see and explore. I can most often be found in Carol's Hungry Mind Cafe (my office!) in Middlebury. I'll be the one of the many working on a computer and drinking espresso. Ask John (the owner) if I'm in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had the fortune of traveling in Europe hitchhiking and was given shelter by several families that picked me up out of the pouring rain and deposited me in front of their peat fireplace or gas heater. I still camp on my nephew's floor in Vancouver and my brother's tent in Cowichan whenever I make it home.

Interests

Music, arts, movies, wine, conversation, cycling, motorcycles, kayaking, permaculture, forests.

Music, Movies, and Books

Strange mix of music and books - like punk and opera, oldies and new indie rock; read teen books (Golden Compass), British mysteries, politics, and kid's picture books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Having my daughter born in our living room and having baby river otters born under our bathroom floor on the same day!

Countries I’ve Visited

Bolivia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Mexico, Morocco, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
