About Me

CURRENT MISSION
To explore Australia out the back of my 4wd.

ABOUT ME
Doug: photographer, 4x4 enthusiast, sailing, rock climbing, building things
Clare: ALL the crafts, foody, craft beer enthusiast, carer

Clare and I love to travel, adventure and socialise. We're both passionate about the environment, love everything nature has to offer, are keen recyclers and are vego's. We're always hiking, cycling, camping, snorkelling, kayaking, adventuring of some kind. We love our local music scene, all types of music and love a good boogie. We like to think we are outgoing, open and welcoming of all people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been hosted a handfull of times in the U.S.A and it has been a blast.

I have had many groups of people couchsurfing stay over and it has always been a great experience. I love showing people around, taking them Kayaking, Hiking, to the Beach, camping or even to see local music.

I also regularly have touring bands stay over (often with no warning) it is always a party.
I regularly tour with friends bands as a Photographer/ Roadie and will crash on what ever is softish.

Interests

My Hobby is Photography. I am self taught mostly taking pictures and Video of live bands. But also love taking pictures of Nature.
I obviously love music.
Going on Sunday drives down random dirt tracks is always fun.
Camping, 4 wheel-driving (offroading) Sailing, Kayaking, working on old cars, watching movies

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything goes.
We listen to nearly all types of music, with few exceptions.
Anything get to the hips moving. Funk, Punk, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Ska, Folk, Blues, Soul the list goes on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Doug: In 2015 I spent 4.5 months roadtripping across the U.S.A. California to New York. Couchsurfing and camping as much as we could along the way.

Clare: I ran a salvage yard for 6 years. I was the only female employee of 120 men. Basically selling everything and anything that people dumped. The community that grew around junk was a beautiful thing to be apart of, skill sharing, trading goods and services and brain storming ideas for any problem! I saw so much history, met so many unique characters and learnt so much!

Teach, Learn, Share

Theres always space for more humbleness, kindness, gentleness. Always space for continual growth, learning to be better and more open
