About Me

Recently settled in Seattle after spending a couple years trying to reinvent life a little bit. Can be a bit shy, but I'm very much an extrovert and love spending time with people and experiencing new things. Always looking for new people to meet, especially those who can broaden my experiences! I haven't used CS much but I hope to change that and to meet some of you out there in the CS community!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To have a more social experience when I travel, meet new people, see and experience things that aren't as easy to find, and hopefully be an active host when I settle down somewhere.

Interests

Love to do anything involving live music or dancing, especially a good square dance or swing dance. I spend a lot of time singing and playing my guitars, mandolin, banjos, or ukulele. I'm happy to teach you one (or all)! A social night out with some interesting people is always rewarding, or finding myself outside in some beautiful nature. I love to play music, though if I'm traveling I may not have any instruments with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Folk of all sorts, bluegrass, old time country, indie rock. Most inspired by Leonard Cohen, David Grisman, Simon & Garfunkel, The Beatles, Mississippi John Hurt, M. Ward, and the many unnamed people who spread beautiful folk music throughout the US and world.
I love a good movie and would love to get more into film in a more artistic way. Send me your recommendations!
I'll give any book a shot, but I particularly like non-fiction. I enjoy learning about a new topic or reading a new opinion/perspective on something. That said, the right fiction book will draw me in hard!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quit my job and moved to Costa Rica for three months.

Teach, Learn, Share

What do you want to learn? I can teach some instruments or some dancing. I'd love to learn to cook a new dish, especially if I'm in a foreign country.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully some interesting conversation or perhaps an outing to a dance or something!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Switzerland, United Kingdom
