Overview
About Me
I'm a physics PhD student, and music composer on the side, currently in Washington, DC. I've lived practically my entire life in Belo Horizonte, until 2 years ago when I moved to DC to finish my bachelors at the University of Maryland. I really enjoy living in the US - especially in the east coast - and I take every chance I get to travel around.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm really passionate about traveling and, as an immigrant in the US, I'm really thrilled about getting to know a whole new country and culture. I think couchsurfing is great for making travel more accessible, making friends and promoting cultural exchange.
A good friend of mine is visiting me from far away and I'd like to show him some of my favorite cities on the East Coast.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm an avid reader. I've been mostly reading popular science books lately, such as The Equations of Life by Charles Cockell and Godel, Escher, Bach by Douglas Hofstadter.
A few of the movies that I love, from the back of my mind: Suspiria by Argento, Holy Mountain by Jodorowski, Made in Hong Kong by Fruit Chan.
I'm a Brazilian musician and Brazilian music enthusiast. Other than that, I'm a huge Beatles and Frank Zappa fan, and most 60s and 70s stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've composed, arranged and recorded a musical album entitled "Como Queremos Demonstrar" in 2018-2020. It received a really positive reception. Some of its tracks were featured in the BBC radio and one was selected for a music compilation released in vynil worldwide.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach about and recommend Brazilian music of all sorts. I can also teach you many kinds of math and physics, if you're curious about that.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook! Especially some brazilian desserts, such as brigadeiros and pudim.
