Overview
About Me
I am an American who grew up in the Philippines, went to college in America to study Computer Science, then came to Indonesia to continue my education in linguistics. I am working on my MA in Linguistics from the University of North Dakota, studying the Buginese language in South Sulawesi Indonesia, where I have spent six months teaching English at an after-school program. I'm currently working on a dictionary of the Buginese language (grammar to follow).
I'm tall! (6'6" or 198 cm) I like playing chess and pingpong and all kinds of sports. I like board games and card games, I like sightseeing and hiking, exploring and talking about life and the world. I've spent most of my life in Indonesia and the Philippines, so I don't feel like a "normal" American (still not sure those even exist). I love meeting new people and making friends. I'm new to the couchsurfing experience; I'm jumping in at a friend's recommendation.
My permanent address is Grand Prairie TX (my grandparents' place) but I'm currently hosting in South Sulawesi (in Soppeng)! Drop on by!
