About Me

My name is Douglas McCaffrey and I am a 23 year old photographer from Glasgow, Scotland, I love traveling and photographing animals. I always have a photography project on the go and love to meet new people and explore. I am never happier than outside in the wilderness discovering more about this amazing planet we live on. Myself and my girlfriend are volunteering in Ecuador for the next 6 months and then traveling around the rest of South America. We are both very self sufficient and tidy. We are traveling with 1 backpack each and practicing minimalism as we go. We would love to stay with you, share stories and learn about where you live.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite Song: (at the moment) Rudy by Supertramp

Favorite Movie: I couldn’t possibly just pick one. So I will have to say Three Billboards and The Wall of Wall Street

Favourite book: The Great Animal Encyclopaedia Of The World. Seriously I used to make my parents read it to me every night as a child and it still has so much sentimental value even though it’s worn and many pages are ripped I could never throw it away.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I have done would have to be trekking through the amazon rainforest for 7 hours and getting caught in the craziest rain storm I could have imagined. I thought having lived in Scotland and Ireland where it seems to rain all the time I would have some idea of what it was like but nothing could prepare me for it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can juggle, skateboard, Ice-skate and play guitar. I love to learn about new cultures and other peoples opinions, thoughts and experiences. I currently speak English and a tiny bit of Spanish but am willing to try and speak anything. I love to swap and share stories especially of traveling or growing up.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences traveling and growing up in a home educating family where my three siblings, in Ireland were taught at home.

I love to cook and am always excited to learn and try new foods. Maybe I can cook for you when I come visit.

I have learned some great card games on my travels and love to play and chat. I find it's a great way to get to know people and if we do play you will learn all about my competitive side.
