Overview
About Me
Hey there! My name is Doug, and I'm an environmental organizer/retail worker living in Tallahassee, Florida.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have a passion for social justice, and probably spend 15+hours a week doing unpaid organizing. After rent, utilities, and other expenses, there's not a lot left over for travel, so this website is great. Also, I love meeting locals wherever I go!
Interests
Oh so many: traditional Chinese ink painting and contemporary East Asian Art; Zen Buddhism; urban design; place-making; political theory; urban hiking; tango; journal writing; social movement theory

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music, from alt country to Springsteen to Philip Glass to Nas to Jamie XX. Same goes for movies and books (I will say that I have a treasured anthology of James Baldwin essays). Oh, also Maria Nemeth's "The Energy of Money."
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Negotiated with whole foods security while my friends put tap over Chiquita products during a tar sands action.
Teach, Learn, Share
Not sure what I'm supposed to put here. But if you're curious about social movements, I can teach/share a lot; and of course, I love to learn.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Let me get back to you about this! I just created a profile, so I need to think of some ideas. Perhaps I could clean something for you, or bring you something Southern!
