Présentation
À propos de moi
Hi there! - Scottish guy travelling the world...
Currently in Seoul, Korea, where I've been working for the last five years. I have now been teaching English for nine years which has brought me to many far flung places across the world and I've been enjoying every moment. Never seem to be in one place for too long and always have a sense of adventure.
I would love to meet some like minded people to hang out with and exchange ideas/ travel stories. If you’d like to stay with me, message with “Itaewon” so I know you’ve read my profile :) copy and paste messages will be rejected and ignored.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
in summer 2010, I visited a language school in Nicaragua on my own and I had the opportunity to meet loads of new and amazing people from all over the world!
the following summer, I was lucky enough to volunteer with an international group of people in Spain for two weeks, something which I thoroughly enjoyed through being able to meet people from all walks of life!
ever since then, I've been addicted to travel and don't plan on stopping anytime soon! when I lived in Mexico, I went to a few CouchSurfing social events where I met so many great people and found it a brilliant way to meet friendly local people.
me and my family are also members of an international organisation called Servas which is similar to this platorm, in that it brings different people together from all over the world and allows them to share their experiences.
for me, CouchSurfing is something more than finding somewhere to sleep - I've always found it interesting to exchange ideas and mix with new and exciting people along the way, particularly whilst I've been travelling.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
music: I have a very weird and wonderful taste in music - anyone who looks at my Spotify playlists will discover that! I'm a particular fan of not just pop and electronic music but also love some golden oldie classics from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
documentaries: I love watching any kind of documentary, especially when it teaches me something new I didn't know about before. also big true crime fan
movies: foreign made movies (especially ones in Spanish or Portuguese), horror, comedy etc
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Some of the things I've done on my travels:
- live with a host family in Nicaragua and travel round Venezuela.
- study abroad in Granada, Spain where I spent a semester - those were some of the best days of my life and I'm still in touch with many of the people that I met there!
- live in Rio de Janeiro where I studied Portuguese and of course spent a lot of time on the beach every day!
- solo backpacking around South America where I fell in love with the places I visited and met some incredible people.
- live in Madrid for a year where I started my teaching adventure and lived the Spanish dream.
- continue my teaching in Mexico where I met some of the most welcoming and friendly people ever. the tacos were also incredible!
- skydive out a plane over the desert in Namibia and see the wonderful landscape and nature the country had to offer.
- teach English in an Australian beach town (my favourite part was definitely swimming in the ocean after work).
- work on farms in Australia under the sweltering sun (very hard work but I also had a lot fun!)
- live in Tokyo for six months; living in the world's biggest city had its challenges but I'm so grateful for such an incredible experience and being able to learn about a new culture.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
good company, an exchanging of ideas and some home cooked food - I'm not the best cook but am always trying to improve my repertoire of recipes I know.
I'm also an English teacher and always happy to help anyone who wants to practice their English (I'm a massive geek when it comes to languages to I would love to learn yours as well!)
my apartment in Seoul is small but centrally-located near all the main sights
