ABOUT ME

I operate a small farm in the summer. I often ride bicycles around cities late at night or on tours alone or with friends. I get antsy when I haven't ridden a bike for more than a few days. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and farming for food.

I appreciate the value of exchanging culture while sharing basic needs during travel like food and shelter.

I enjoyed the benefits of surfing while bike touring. They certainly match the pace and intent of bicycle travel.

Intereses

I like to cook food in cast iron and I've been studying the Tlingit language.

I am one of about a dozen co-founders of a bicycle non-profit in Anchorage called Off the Chain Bicycle Education Corporation (offthechainak.org).

I do a regular Old-time radio show at KHNS on Wednesday nights.

I call square dances.

I know a bit about gardening/farming at northern latitudes and am well versed in internally geared bicycle hubs as well as bicycle repair and maintenance from earlier era bicycles.

I would love to learn more about forestry.
