I grew up orthodox jewish and then at around age 25 I decided not to be religious anymore but then I found it difficult to progress in my life.
I went into a long period of isolation and anxiety, and it has taken a while to slowly gain back, or new, confidence in myself.
I have been volunteering for about two years. First in a library and then in a kitchen. Now I volunteer in a charity shop, as a barista, and sometimes in a community garden. I am also moving towards paid work.
In 2019 I took functional skills English and maths courses because I didn't really go to school when I was younger. This year I am taking English and maths GCSE's.
I hope to continue studying but I'm not sure what yet.

2023, now working in Primark, I took an accounting course last year, was going to continue this year but then decided I wasn't going to. I'm planning on enrolling at the open university in the new year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think I have seen myself as somewhat of a nomad since I was younger, even though I haven't actually been one, so I think I want to travel a bit and meet people and learn new skills and gain more confidence in myself.

Even though I am from the UK, and I have also been to other countries, I think I want to travel to a few places within the UK first.

I think when I am in a new place I would like to visit museums, parks and libraries and learn a bit about the place I am in.

I am recently 38, so I feel like I want to do something different this year. I'd like to travel to give different places, and speak to at least one person in each place.
