ABOUT ME
Just spent three years teaching the youth of Japan (that is the 5 kids in class who would stay awake). Now back in Arkansas with big trees and applying to grad school.

Teach, Learn, Share
The reason you don't pronounce the 'S' at the end of Arkansas is that when they were deciding what to name the state, there was a debate between "Arkansas" and "Arkansaw" so they compromised by spelling it "Arkansas" but pronouncing it "Arkansaw".
