ABOUT ME

Reading and writing are my passions (with some film making and acting along the way); travel, history, food, sport and languages not too far behind. Changed careers a few years ago to medicine in an idealistic attempt to do something I felt worthwhile - working with and helping people, trying to make a difference. Doesn't always work out that way and has meant not much time to travel, write or think about life, so this year I am taking time off to ride a motorbike around Europe with my best mate Tony and explore my passions further.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently in Europe so not able to offer a couch. Sorry! Will be back in 2009.

Hope to offer a couch when we get settled here as we've only just moved. Just hoping to reciprocate some of the wonderful kindness I have been shown in various parts of the world in the past.

Delivered a baby (quite a few actually). It's really cool. Love the expression on mum and dad's faces, especially if it's no. 1!

I believe, and it is my experience, that those that who seek to not teach directly often teach the most, maybe because they are so humble you are compelled to observe and appreciate them. I have had many jobs, from fruit and vegetable picker, to cleaner and food service in a hospital, to doctor in the same hospital, and I have learned as much from any of my various co-workers as any other. Therefore I have nothing to teach other that that which is gained from us meeting on equal terms.
