I'm a PhD student, currently working at RWTH Aachen. I moved to Aachen about a year ago, after graduating from my Masters in Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology, Netherlands. I have fancied travelling for as long as I can remember and have a goal of visiting one new place, once in at least four months, local or International. As of now, I have been to 11 countries and a number of cities and have plans to increase that number in the coming years. Raised in the coastal city of Chennai, in the southern part of India, I have had my share of stories travelling the southern and northern parts of India. In addition to travelling, I also fancy Astronomy. I'm currently living in one of the best stops in Europe, with 6 airports in three countries surrounding me, giving me plenty of opportunities to find the cheapest tickets to some amazing places. I have decided to take this opportunity to explore the beauty and culture of Europe.

Its a paradise for travelers. I believe that a local person would possibly be the best guide one could find. In addition to the hospitality, they also extend their local knowledge, which could be their greatest asset. This will definitely not be available even in the best star hotels that one could find.

Interessen

Science in general, specifically Astronomy (Yes, I own a telescope !). In addition to that, I love reading books, Photography, trekking, hiking, mountain biking, and of course, traveling to and exploring, experiencing new places.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I mostly read non-fiction. I loved reading Carl Sagan's works - Cosmos, Contact etc. I also love Chris Hadfield's Autobiography - An astronaut's guide to life on earth, I'm a fan of History and would like to read about it. And also classics like - The hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.
I've also fancied Bear Gryll's Facing Up, Feynman's - Surely you're joking Mr. Feynman which I found to be brilliant, The Martian, Born a Crime, Musk, A short history of nearly everything to name a few/

I'm a fan of the Star wars franchise, Star Trek, Doctor Who, and most other sci-fi elements out there. I'm a fan of the DC universe and like most of the Marvel universe characters too.

I love classical and instrumental. My Spotify playlist is filled with pieces from Bach, Beethoven, Vivaldi along with the works of modern composers including Yiruma, Justin Hurwitz, Steven Price, Hans Zimmer.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I spent a night, at about 2000m above sea level, in a tent-like structure built by us with a tarpaulin, under the beautiful night sky full of stars.
I also managed to reach the peak of Meesapulimala; slided along a rock for about 6m into a pool of cold water (which was extremely fun); traveled for about 80 km away from the city light into a clear dark sky and spent the night sky-watching with our telescopes.
My friends and I spent one entire winter night roaming around the spooky and abandoned streets of Venice. Also attempted to hitchhike to Hamburg from Delft, with partial success.
I have also managed to successfully get stuck in the middle of a violent snow storm in Iceland with no souls around for hundreds of kilometers. Lots of stories to share...
