About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Optimize the Universe

ABOUT ME

Loud, active, usually pedantic, sometimes (but rarely) insightful. I also have a terrible sense of humor and come with a switch to turn off my natural extraversion if you need to be left alone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting the locals is half the experience when travelling, if not more. Natural and man-made wonders are nice, too, but due to a weird quirk of my character I am rather fond of human beings.

Interests

I'm doing science and I'm still alive. Mostly I'm doing science, but sometimes I do travel, hike, hang out with friends or strangers so that I am more aware of the fact that I am indeed still alive.

I am also a huge fan of urban orienteering competitions like RunCity (you're definitely missing out if nothing like that happens in your city).

Music, Movies, and Books

HPMOR. Worm. The Martian. A Deepness in the Sky. The Feynman Lectures.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited the Turda salt mine in Transylvania while on a biking trip. It's where you should go if you always wanted to see the Middle Earth's Moria but for obvious reasons have to settle for the second best available option.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can probably teach you a more or less accurate and modern picture of the solar system (especially in heliosphere and magnetosphere physics), and give you an intro on UNIX systems / programming as well. If you need to practice your Russian or Armenian, I'll readily be your test subject; practice has shown that I never grow tired pointing out mistakes and pronunciation subtleties.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My stories on space exploration can be an endless source of delight; I can also help you clean up your place and/or buy groceries. I can probably even cook for you, but then you'll have to eat it, which may or may not be the experience worth trying.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Latvia, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Slovakia, Ukraine, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Armenia, Russian Federation
