ABOUT ME
I think people are infinitely interesting. I'm not a big extrovert, but love talking with people one or two at a time, hearing their stories, learning about their experiences. I like to learn about other cultures through the eyes of their people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm brand new to CouchSurfing, having just met a group of Russians with a stool and an Iranian-American woman at the Quaker house in Phoenix. It seems like a perfect way to bring the world into your home, and I'm looking forward to getting more involved.
Interests
I remember going to a bead market in Ghana to bring back a few beads to sell. That's the last thing I remember. I COMPLETELY fell in love with beads, and they have taken over a room in my house. Beading is my hobby, a budding business, and my sanity.
Also love cooking together, especially dishes from other cultures. Aside from beading, my favorite pastime is having people over and collectively cooking a meal and eating it together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My son and I spent six years living in Ghana. I taught psychology at the University of Ghana, with 1500 students in one classroom. Made lifelong friendships, have a little girl named for me, and came back appreciating a lot of things we take for granted (like toilets with seats).
