ABOUT ME

Hey everyone! I'm Daniel. I currently work in the public sector after graduating from university a couple of years ago. I love to travel to new places and broaden my horizons. I think that travelling is one of the most valuable things you can do in your life. You always learn something about others and yourself on a trip. I've been lucky enough to visit quite a few countries but there's always more to visit and see. I look forward to meeting you soon.

I'm a level headed kind of guy. I love to debate (respectfully) and hear peoples' opinions on matters. I'm an keen cyclist, am dabbling in swimming and in the future would like to learn how to dance tango.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've stayed with three CSers so far, but hope to expand that to double digits soon. One of the people I stayed with has become a lifelong friend. I find this amazing; it made me an instant advocate in the principle.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience surfing was staying on a proper sailing boat moored up in central Barcelona. Unforgettable - especially going sailing at the weekend!

Hmmm, always difficult to fill in this section fully. Let me see... I definitely have a big thing for sailing. I've been sailing for the last five summers or so. Just love that feeling of being free on the big blue sea. I also love Chemistry (hence my degree) and walking in the countryside. I put this down to having grown up in the city and hence wanting to escape every once in a while. Just to round it all off I have an insatiable appetite for US politics. I can spend hours telling you about Congress. Not sure if that's a good or a bad thing...

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Sailed from Liverpool to Norway non stop in the Tall Ships Race 2008. What a phenomenal experience. Was a test of endurance as much as a holiday, but sparked a lifelong (hopefully) love of yachting/sailing. Tell you more about it when I see you!

Visited Mozambique and saw how the 'third world' lives. Real eye opener to see abject poverty and wealth so close to each other.

Walked along a thin ledge in underground caves in Slovenia. Sheer drops just a metre away.

Sung in Notre Dame in front of hundreds of people.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Teach: I can help with any Chemistry questions. And basic math/physics. And financial modelling. Won't know till you ask!
I can probably also tell you something about sailing a boat and a lot about how the US Congress and the UK government work.
