I am a writer/editor for a educational online company who provides lesson plans and book guides for students and teachers.

PHILOSOPHY

Personal philosophy: All is well--I am an optimist and believe that there are thousands of good people to each one that would want to do harm. I believe we all have a soul that is thoroughly good and that those who stray from their innate goodness have just lost touch with their perfection. I value kindness, good manners and integrity. I do not like to discuss politics or religion because I do not think those are what ultimately what makes us connect with each other.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I haven't really participated in couch surfing, but went to dinner at a friend's house who were having their first couch surfer and I went to determine if the guy was safe and he was wonderful. I hope to increase my participation now that I have gotten my new home in some order.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have not officially done couch surfing out of this organization, but have visited and stayed with a variety of people in my many travels. I am very flexible and do not need much to be comfortable.

Interests

I have a wide array of interests, but I think my greatest joy is being in the out of doors. Love hiking, camping, visiting odd places, reading, photography, birding, shooting the breeze and philosophizing with others. I also find technology fascinating and like to keep up on knowing what's being invented, though I do not go out and continually upgrade due to environmental considerations.

Music, Movies, and Books

Wide range: It's easier to say that I do not like movies with gratuitous violence (or really much violence at all) or ones that are too "dark." That being said, I have to say I have very much enjoyed all the Harry Potter series, which some may think are a bit dark.

Books: I have gotten a bit lazy in my middle age in that I have added some purely entertainment into my repertoire, particularly fantasy such as the Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan and the like. Other than that, I read a huge variety of books, magazines, etc...from National Geographic to the Audubon Magazine to Scientific American.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seen two people who hated each other become good friends.
