Overview
About Me
PLEASE READ THE DETAILS ABOUT MY HOME! **Minimum 2 nights stay. If you just need a place to sleep in before catching a flight, I'm not the host for you. I'm interested in making deep connections and sharing cultures, rather than just having a free bed.**
CURRENT MISSION
to be a popstar in Uzbekistan (if this proves to be logistically difficult, then I aim to be Tina Fey instead)
ABOUT ME
bitingly funny, competitive, creative, accommodating, open-minded, moderately delusional, a little bit insane :)
Please note I'm not a local. I'm an expat from the Philippines, but I'd be glad to explore the local culture with you.
PHILOSOPHY
Do no harm, take no shit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Happy to host and show you around in Bishkek and maybe also the countryside in the
summer! Also, I will probably force you to attend weird events like cat expos.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Hosted many CSers in Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan. I just recently used CS as a guest during my solo trip to the Baltics and Central Europe.
Interests
FOOD, poetry, veganism, films, gardening, books, social entrepreneurship, tea, history, pop culture, music, nerdy things, eco lifestyle
Music, Movies, and Books
If I haven't heard, read, or seen it yet then it's on my list! I'm a voracious (bordering obsessive-compulsive) reader, listener, and film fanatic.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going on AIESEC exchange in Mongolia to teach English! It was my first time working and living abroad and in the coldest capital city nonetheless! I got to experience -40C winters, drafting a textbook for dental technicians (apparently, having worn braces for 10 years makes me an expert in this field), and getting into all sorts of hilarious mix ups due to the language barrier. (Once, I ordered "fried testicles" instead of "fried potatoes".) Above all, I got to meet so many inspired and inspiring young people who want to make their mark on the world.
Seeing the Baikal Lake! I remember reading about it in my geography classes, but to actually see it in person was quite magical! The water was so clear, and freezing like crazy even in summer! It was like a never ending expanse of blue.
Flying to Nyurba in the Sakha Republic aboard the tiniest, oldest plane I've ever been in. Looking out the window, one could see vast pine forests and lakes. That's when I realized I AM in Siberia, flying above the arctic circle! The view more than made up for the very bumpy ride. It was also quite an experience landing on a dirt path!
Traveling by myself in the dead of winter in the Baltics and Central Europe!
