About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To dream big and work hard.

ABOUT ME

Howdy. My name is Drayton. I like public parks, libraries, water fountains, dive bars, and a good bowl of soup. I'm a violinist, a singer, and a lover of music from many eras and many regions of the world. I support myself playing violin/fiddle and leading my band Drayton & The Dreamboats.

When I'm not busy with music I enjoy playing pool, chess, cards, and the board games that most people don't play because they take too long. I keep up closely with U.S. as well as world politics and I try to keep active fighting the good fight. I love the outdoors and enjoy walking, running, swimming, hiking, and long distance biking. I enjoy reading fiction and biographies as well as books about music and politics. I love a good meal. And obviously I love to travel. My favorite kind of trip is more an adventure than a vacation. I enjoy traveling by myself without deadlines or plans that can't be broken. I like using craigslist rideshare both as a driver and a passenger. I enjoy people and I also value my time away from people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a lot about U.S. government and politics and some of the major political, environmental, economic, and humanitarian issues that the world faces. I know my history and geography. I know a thing or two about music. I can sing along to 90% of the songs that play on classic rock radio stations and I have a pretty strong knowledge of American music dating back to the 19th century. I'd like to soak up the music, language and culture of many regions of the world. Lately I'm particularly interested in Brazilian music. I'm very interested in learning and enhancing some basic life skills such as growing food, cooking, carpentry, and fixing cars. I'm interested in furthering my knowledge and skills in just about every field
