About Me

CURRENT MISSION

See everything, learn everything (ambitious I know).

ABOUT ME

I'm a 30 year old health researcher who works for a not-for-profit (NGO) organisation based in the North East of England. I live with a couple of housemates in Heaton, which is one of the main student areas close to the city centre. I try to spend every moment that I'm not working seeing new places. I spent 6 months of last year living in Sao Paulo, where I trained to teach English. I'm currently back in the UK for a while, planning my next adventure :)

PHILOSOPHY

'You must be the change you wish to see in the world.' (Ghandi)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to couchsurfing so haven't hosted anyone yet, but I'm excited about having the opportunity to meet new and interesting people.

I often don't have a couch or spare room available (and I travel a lot!), but when I'm around I'm happy to show people around the city, go out for some beers etc.

Interests

My main interest is just people - who we are, where we've been, how we look at the world. I also like other animals, seeing new places, baking cakes, the seaside, running in the park, spending time with friends and finding out things I didn't know.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming with wild dolphins miles out to sea when I was in Kaikoura, New Zealand. It was more than ten years ago but thinking about it still gives me goosebumps.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a lot to learn about a lot of things so am open to anything really! I'm currently studying Portuguese and I'm trained to teach English as a foreign language (CELTA qualification). I'd like to learn how to play the piano/guitar/violin. I don't have any major skills to offer, but I can bake and cook and I know a lot about Newcastle!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Brazil, Croatia, France, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
