ABOUT ME
I left Michigan as a massage therapist to go plant trees in Seattle. Rode my bike, saw a lot of punk shows, worked at a book store, went to a lot of dance parties.
Well, I packed up and peaced out to a mountain ski town(Truckee) so I could live with a best friend Jon I hadn't seen in two years. Moved to see another best friend in Brisbane, Australia. Spent a lot of time working and running around with my homegirl Josie getting into mostly harmless trouble. Came back to the states to see more of the US with the Melbourne band The Barons of Tang and settled down in Olympia, WA to finally get the Bachelor's degree I've heard so much about.
Fresh from traveling for 6 months in Peru, I'm ready be home. For awhile. I think.
PHILOSOPHY
The main thing is to not be dead.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm often traveling, and love meeting people through this great community.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have lived out of a car for a year and half while mostly couch surfing back in the day, spent even more time couch surfing after that, and plenty of punk rock adventures and going on tour with bands.
Let's just say, this ain't my first rodeo.
Interests
Most of my time is spent looking like a frightened woodland creature at every deadline, paper, and task due. However, my lovely housemates break me out of it for massive vegan feasts, bike rides, and getting back up to Seattle every chance I can get to see all my lovelies up there. I am also the zine librarian for the Olympia Zine Library and a coordinator for the radical feminist student group FIST!(Feminists In Solidarity Together), a slightly redundant, hilarious, but awesome name for super cool group of people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to do restoration ecology in the mountains and around the Puget Sound region. One year we were out in the northern Cascades for two weeks at the end of September in the Alpine Lakes. Day 7, we were all sore and tired, and some of us walked about 30 feet into the lake on this massive old growth tree that fell. We dove into this cold, glacial run-off water. Everything was dark and silent and I felt like this little delicate piece of flesh and just how much bigger and tougher and better nature was.
In Brisbane my friends helped organize an amazing zine release party for me, and my house's walls were covered in art pieces by some local, and now global, street artists. So many people came, three bands played from my friend's label, and the love was incredibly overwhelming.
