About Me

*****PLEASE READ FULLY BEFORE REQUESTING TO STAY WITH US !!xxx WE ONLY OFFER TWO NIGHT STAYS AT THE MOST***** Free spirit, dreamer, always late, gets bored easily.... likes walking barefoot, dying my hair stupid colours, not doing as I'm told, adventures. I had a few years travelling and living round the UK while I was a student nurse in the RAF - living in Scotland, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Peterborough and Catterick. I spent 7.5 years in the military before joining the NHS in various sister positions but now I just work as hoc as a staff nurse. I love all things alternative and am hoping to eventually live off my own land or own a small holding. I love visiting Glastonbury and London as well as new places around the UK. I'm a huge fan of Wales, I think it's absolutely beautiful. I'm a vegetarian and have been for many years (initially cut out meat at age 9), so we only serve vegetarian food x We signed up to WWOOF last year and briefly worked on 2 farms in the summer of 2017. I try to run sometimes and have completed the London marathon, couple of half marathons, some 10kms and fair amount of 5kms. My running is quite sporadic though so I wouldn't call myself a runner. My plans to travel the world were put on hold while I had a family; my husband and I now have FOUR boys!!! But I'm now back to being determined to travel the world and am on a mission to get a plan into place!! Couchsurfing is part of that plan for me. I'm hoping to get some solo trips sorted over the next few years to help me prepare before our big adventure together. I want to learn how to live like a local in foreign places rather than always be a tourist. Apart from the boys we also have a dog and a couple of chickens. Our lovely little miniature schnauzer is called Pippa and can initially be a bit barky at first but is an absolute darling with children, adults and other dogs. She's 7. We're really looking forward to you coming into our home and would love to hear about your home country and culture. If you have a little postcard or pictures about your country to show the boys they'd love it! They'll have lots of questions so I hope you'll have the answers 😜 Now for the important bit!!! I think it's imperative you're aware that if you do choose to come and couchsurf in our home it's very small and chaotic (!). All our children are still quite young and are stereo-typical boisterous boys! You'd have to be prepared to be around craziness (of the child kind, not the exciting single life type of craziness!) and noise! We could show you an average British family life but you may be wanting something more cultural/quiet/party-like. You won't be able to smoke in our home. You'd be sleeping on our sofa bed in the living room which would be used as a family room up until around 9pm. As we have little kids the majority of our day is taken up looking after them so while you're more than welcome to hang out with us doing kids stuff, it will seriously limit our ability to show you the sights of Shropshire. We may be more suited as a stop-gap between destinations rather than the family who can show you around. None of that information is there to put you off! We'd really like you to stay and tell our boys about your adventures, culture, country, stories and travel and we hope you'll inspire them to do the same! You really are more than welcome to stay with us but I think it's important you know what you'll be coming to!x. Oh, and I'm a rubbish cook so any surfers who could teach me to cook would be FABULOUS!!!x Tell me your favourite meal to make when you're requesting to stay, then I'll know you've read my profile! 😜 *****PLEASE NOTE: As we are we'd be inviting you into our home with young children we are currently only accepting surfers with a good track record, positive reviews and are verified. We can only offer couchsurfers somewhere to stay for 2 nights max. As we become more accustomed to Couchsurfing we will open our home up to newer members too.***** Peace x

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In the hope it will enable me to see more destinations in an authentic way rather than as a tourist and to help me travel "slowly" around the world. It's also a wonderful opportunity for my kids to meet and learn from people from all around the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE live music and have been to more gigs than I could possibly list. I mainly listen to indie and pop music but can happily listen to most genres of music in the right situation.

I'm not a big movie watcher to be honest but I do enjoy going to the cinema, although that could possibly be because of the sweets and popcorn. I particularly like small independent cinemas or old ones that are a bit crumbly and draughty.

I really enjoy reading but I'll be the first to admit I don't stretch myself enough and read lots of escapism type stuff and crime fiction.

I’m not a “twitcher” but I do love birds as do my boys, am hoping to visit a puffin colony and see the eagles in Scotland one day x

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
