About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make the world better of course

ABOUT ME

Curious, down to earth, in love with life, with music and with my wife (not necessarily in that order).

PHILOSOPHY

Two principles.

One.
Don't complain. Start doing.
Complaining will not change the things you don't like, so do something and change the world piece by piece.

Two.
Carpe diem. A quote from Latin poet Horatius, meaning "seize the day".
Well, we would definitely be happier if we let ourselves experience everything great the life has to offer, without being blocked by our own fears.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I believe in the citizenship of the world. CS is one of the best ways to make it real!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met so many interesting people in CS events and surfing, that's a wonderful experience of cultural openness and fun!

Interests

Too many, definitely. but music and politics rule!
As a hobby, I compose soundtrax for theater, play in a band and listen to TONS of music every day (I actually like matching every situation I'm in with the best soundtrack).

Music, Movies, and Books

Disney's Fantasia, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars are among my favorite movies, but I love also movies like Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain, Once upon the time in America (by the italian director Sergio Leone, the one who discovered Clint Eastwood!) or Kubrick's ones. Ah! Tim Burton's Big Fish makes me cry every time!

As regards music it's more complicated, let's just say that I love classical music and every kind of metal, and many of the things between ;) (actually I'm very much in the jazz-fusion-prog scene)

My favourite books have been written more than two thousend years ago (I think Ancient Greeks really invented everything!), but I enjoy many "moderns" like Dostoevskij, Tolkien and Umberto Eco...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I swam underwater with sharks in Thailand, slept in the Australian desert staring at Uluru rock at dawn, proposed to the woman I love in an ancient Greek theater and survived a PhD.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could give a few tips about home-recording techniques and of course everything about music!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Many travel stories from all over the world, a jam session (when a piano or keyboard is available), and some food tips from my home-country.
