ABOUT ME

I'm a rather quiet person which is supportive of a perceptive yet introspective existence. I'm also a warm person and I like to ask people questions about themselves. I'm a hard and conscientious worker, but I also like to relax at the end of the day (with hot tea, blanket, book, good company, warm soup, friendly pup, music, etc etc. . .) I'm casual, I like to laugh (and perhaps make fun of the world from time to time), and I care quite a lot about other people (and all things living, really. . .and maybe some things that aren't).

I dropped out of college when I was 19 (much to the dismay of my family!) because it became clear to me that college would set me on a path I didn't want to be on. I was beginning to feel drained - so for the past 6 years I have been traveling, farming, and creating my own experiential education. I've lived as a nomad these past years - mostly farming or working with nonprofits. I've lived in a few 'intentional communities' over the years which has been interesting as well.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in people following their own path, even when it's hard, and complicated, and perhaps something no one else has ever done before. I talk to so many people who go to a job they hate everyday while longing to do something else - something that would satisfy and excite them. I believe in trying new things and exploring. I believe in being open. I believe in being kind.

So far I have only surfed - and I look forward to the day when I have a farm where I'll be able to host travelers of all sorts. Please come visit me someday!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have done couchsurfing in the UK, and it was lovely. I have really enjoyed meeting people I would otherwise not have met. I now have friends all over the world and have learned so much from the people I've stayed with.

Intereses

I love being outside and walking and sitting under trees and appreciating the seasons and the beauty all around me, I love gardening, I love libraries and bookstores and I love reading - but I am rather polyamorous with books and tend to read 20 at a time and often do not finish. . ., I love seeing new places and moving - but eventually I will need consistency. I love spending time with animals, singing and music, cooking/baking (vegetarian), reading, creative writing, hiking, etc. . .

Watched an ant carry a leaf 100 times its size across a driveway, lived on a treeless island for 2 months and walked across the sea (at low tide) and then 2 miles while ill with Lyme disease to find an ancient oak tree, broke an arrow with my neck, slept in a hammock near the redwood forest under the most amazing stars.
