Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To become comfortable and content on my own, far from my home country. To live, laugh, learn and love!
ABOUT ME
Hopeful, hapless, happy. I crave human and animal company. I love people, music, food, travel, taking photos, writing, hiking in the mountains, and trying to learn new things like kimono dressing and Japanese.
PHILOSOPHY
Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. But today is a gift, and that's why it's called the present.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I try to go through life patiently and confidently. It doesn't always work out that way :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a lovely Spanish couple at my home in Satsumasendai-shi for one night and a German couple for two nights. I'm pretty new to CS, but I'm looking forward to meeting some exciting people!
Interests
Travelling, music, drinking good wine and eating good food, korfball, talking to friends for hours, discovering new music, hiking in mountains, learning Japanese, photography, geisha culture and history, tattoos, writing, cooking, giving myself ridiculous physical challenges.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love mainly indie and rock music but I have very eclectic tastes. You will find everything from Avril Lavigne (blush) to Slipknot, via the Black Keys in my music collection.
Movies and books: too numerous to list! Anything sweet but with a dark twist gets my vote. Tim Burton's book the Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy is a perfect example. The same goes for movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are so many I could choose from but seeing a real geisha hurrying to work in picturesque and historic Gion, Kyoto, is one that comes to mind. It was a lifelong dream finally realised.
Teach, Learn, Share
Things I can share/teach: some basic to intermediate Japanese, numerous trivia about geisha, how to dress oneself in full kimono regalia in less than seven minutes, and the rules of korfball; the world's only true mixed team sport!
Things I'd like to learn: words and phrases from any language. I love language, and it's one of my lifetime regrets that I'm not at least bilingual! I love learning about other countries' customs and traditions, so please share them with me :)
Countries I’ve Visited
Cuba, New Zealand, United States
