About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as many new sights and meet as many new people as I can.

ABOUT ME

California born and bred, realizing more and more that nature is where I belong. Love emergency medicine. I have a strong interest in the blind world and I'm starting graduate school to learn to teach the blind. I love new (to me) cultures, foreign (to me) languages, and the foods, music and stories of other people. I myself come from a Jewish background and I love my tradition and observances.

PHILOSOPHY

If you don't try it, you can't knock it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mostly surf in new places, hoping to meet new people and see new places. I am hoping that when I have a place of my own I will be able to open my doors to pay all this kindness forward.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had amazing opportunities while travelling cross country with my friend a few summers ago. The hosts were so amazing. Much more than I ever expected. I had a great time getting to know them, and learn about their cities. I can only hope that one day I can return their favors.

Interests

Camping, folk music, hiking, board games, singing, goalball (check it out on YouTube), and travel. I love being introduced to new experiences and learning new skills: playing harmonica, quilting, knitting, ASL, reading Braille, brushing up my Spanish, exploring Italian, and dogsledding. Yes, dogsledding! I spent several days learning to mush in Maine. Ask me about it. :-)

Music, Movies, and Books

To Kill a Mockingbird, both the book and the movie. Any and all music - lots and lots of it. I especially love folk music. I'm pretty sure I also love a lot of things I haven't been exposed to yet. Do you have something to show me or teach me? I'm all ears!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Driven ambulances in multiple countries. Worked seven summers as the assistant director of a camp for the blind and visually impaired. Backpacked the trail from Big Basin to the sea and back. Drove dogsleds in Maine. Drove from Boston to San Francisco and then flew back to New York right after.

That's more than 1...oh well.

Teach, Learn, Share

Oh, gosh, I don't know. Would you like to learn to read Hebrew or Braille? I'll give it my best shot! I also love sharing simple "life hacks" such as the best way to remove the seeds from a pomegranate. C'mon, you know you're curious!

Countries I’ve Visited
