ABOUT ME

I'm me, as far as a job I manage a horse barn where I care for the horses, teach lessons and train. In my free time I volunteer at a local horse rescue farm where I help retrain the horses to make them more adoptable, once they are finished with physical rehab. In any extra time I hang out with my friends or often at burner events, enjoy trail riding, biking, hiking and camping. Just about anything outside and active is right up my alley!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I bounce in and out of couchsurfing more than I'd like! I used to go to cs events and be able to host some, but unfortunately I can't host in my current house, and have gotten so caught up in the burner community I seem to have fallen out of the cs one. If you suggest something though, I'd love to go with you to it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't done any traveling yet with the official couch surfing community, but in the past I've traveled to various parts of the country and stayed with friends. My favorite was a trip to Cuba where I stayed with a group of people at a house, met the locals and just had a blast! Update: ok, new fav. I'm currently on my way back from doing volunteer work with Pisco Sin Fronteras, (a formerly burners without boarders org) and it's replaced cuba as my fav, but this isn't about fav places. I hope to be able to host again one day, and plan to couchsurf with some of my new friends already on the site as well!

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I don't do much reading anymore, but some of my old favs were The Giver, Pony Jungle, and The Little Prince as far as books. My fav movie is The Princess Bride, and seconds are Like Water For Chocolate, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Paprika, and Ponyo. Musical taste is just about anything, but love me some Gogol Bordello!

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I've been on volunteer trips to Cuba and tiny fishing villages in Alaska. I've spent the night with a severely emaciated horse, serving her feed every three hours and checking on the sling that was holding her up. (she's since returned to a good weight) I'm not sure if either count as amazing but they were fun, and unique! Hey, one new amazing thing I've done, I just volunteered in south america for 6 weeks building houses for destitute poor, wee!!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Horseback riding! I'm a dressage instructor and trainer (if you don't know what that is, don't worry about it, it's just a fancy english style of riding) I'd love to give you a riding lesson or a trail ride, or just take out to the barn to meet the big guys. I'd like to learn any skill or hobby you'd like to share with me too! Especially if it's like knitting or martial arts..that would be sweet. But anything really!
