This "about me" is a work in progress.

I'm married to Nancy Ellen (who is more experienced than I am at capital c Couchsurfing but less so at regular, old-fashioned couchsurfing) and we live with our two amazing girls in beautiful Plainfield Vermont, USA. That's her in my profile pic. She's on this site too -- will try to figure out how to link to her.

Born: Houston, TX, in 1963.
Moved to Fort Smith, AR when I was 10, went to college at Washington University in St. Louis, MO when I was 18. Moved to Vermont to study education when I was 28 (in 1991).

Have worked with children most of my adult life; before that I was one. That's what I am best at.

Interests include art, basketball, computers. Interesting thing I have done: started a improv theatre group that only lasted 6 months or so before life took us all in different directions. Still, it was a lot of fun. Also, ran moviemaking workshops for kids -- also lasted about six months, until the demands of the rest of my life made it impossible. Have been learning to cook since we got married in 2008 -- progress slow but steady. Have tried doing CrossFit off an on, but have had trouble making it fit my schedule -- really enjoy it though, and look forward to a day when I can stick with it! Hmm -- a pattern seems to be emerging...
