About Me
CURRENT MISSION
figure out how I want to live my life as I head in to my adult years.
ABOUT ME
I've been living in the city since 2008. I love San Francisco. It's the best city in the world and I feel blessed to have the opportunity to live here. Aside from city life, I compete in triathlons, love the outdoors and love art. I also love food which is one of the best reasons to visit SF.
PHILOSOPHY
As humans our job is to keep ourselves entertained until we drop dead but we are all in this world together. We can make this world better by understanding one another through personnel connections. We need to open our selves up to one another to let that happen. Closing ourselves to the world and hiding in small groups of friends or even worse looking at the world though the glass tube in the living room will not help us grow. Nobody has ever looked back on there life and fondly recalled there afternoons spent watching day time television. We can do better.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love to meet new people from different places which is why I love to travel. This community gives me the opportunity to feel like I am traveling without leaving home. Also I have been helped out a few times on some of my trips and this gives me the opportunity to pay it forward. Also I would like to know that you read my profile so if you would like to be seriously considered as a guest put the word Odyseus in the subject line of the couch request.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have stayed on many a couches in my day. I think the only bad experience I had was when I stayed on my brothers couch for three weeks. I almost broke up his relationship with his current wife, so she said. Not something I hope to repeat. All the other experiences, I would say, have been better than hotel stays. Except for that five star hotel I stayed at in Boston. That bed was incredible. You had to be there.
Interests
This is long but here goes swimming, biking, running i.e. triathlon. Wilderness backpacking, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, cross country skiing. I love to push my limits. Travel, photography, meeting new people with new perspectives, learning new a language/s. I am going to try French.

Music, Movies, and Books
I always look for the movies with film festival awards and 9 times out of ten I like them. Most of what Hollywood cranks out is crap. I would say the same about music. I am lucky to have musically minded friends who tell me about the good stuff. I love books, I have not read a grown up book in a while. I am reading children's books in Spanish. Vamos a ver el Wizard el fantastico Wizard de OZ!!!!!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in Spain for a year. I have run 20+marathons,two times at the Boston Marathon, 9 Ironman Triathlon, rode a bicycle across the USA, backpacked in the Himalayas of Nepal, White Mountains of NH, Sierras in CA, Cascades of Washington and Oregon the Rockies of MO, WY and CO. Survived burning man eleven consecutive years. Oh yeah, I worked in the Emergency room and a county jail so I think I have seen some interesting stuff.
