About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Plotting.

ABOUT ME

I work out of the home at the moment for my own little media/design company, drink lots of coffee and listen to podcasts all day. It's not bad.

More as the situation develops.

PHILOSOPHY

Developed as a child when my older sister used to throw stuff at me and shout "Think Fast!"

Music, Movies, and Books

Authors: Vonnegut (Kurt), Roy (Arundhati), Letham (Jonathan), Smith (Zadie), Franzen (Jonathan).

Movies: Godfather; anything with decent kung-fu; Wes Anderson flicks; old flicks; cheesy funny flicks.

Music: I like the NW music scene of my roots. Also, the Pixies still do it for me. Listening to The Kills these days. Rachels when feeling mellow. Been on a Ray Charles kick as well. Lots of music. Current iTunes catalog: 27.5 days of tunes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Many and varied. I've seen unarmed people march toward machine gun-toting soldeirs guardin construction of a huge wall through the middle of their town. I've seen a kid who can do hand-free cartwheels down a city block. I knew a guy who can jump seven feet in the air and break things with his feet in the process. I know a set of parents out to accomplish everything their daughter wrote about in her journal before she died. I've seen street musicions enterain for an hour sans instruments. I've seen folks brave starvation, dehydration, wild animals, militias and border patrols simply to head north of the U.S./Mexican border to retrieve some tidge of their stolen economy. I met a guy for lunch who spent 12 years or so in solitary confinement for telling the world that there were nuclear weapons in a middle eastern country. I know people in my adopted hometown of Olympia, WA, who work with torture trauma victims from around the globe. I met a guy who traveled from Tibet to India on foot to escape the Chinese Government after he got out of detention for the umphteenth time. I met two people who run an unauthorized relief center for war refugees in an African country that is considered to be illegal by the govenment of that aformentioned country. I met a guy from a country where he's hated by both the rebels and the military because he works in a facility that helps victims regardless of where they come from. Amazing is what ordinary people have the chance to do most days, but most of us choose to sleep in. I count myself among this "us," but remain in awe of those other ones.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play a mean game of mancala. I can build a website in two days (http://orscp.org), I can talk a good talk.

I'd like to learn Arabic, or at least some more things to say in it. I'd like to learn, um, not to drive a stick shift, because I can, but to drive one without killing it all the time. I'd like to learn backgammon.
