ABOUT ME
I could tell you all about myself, but isn't it much more fun to read my references? This is my favorite and I think most accurately describes me:
Well, that's me in a nut shell ;)
PHILOSOPHY
My goal is to make the world a better place, but my struggle is figuring out how! I figure the more I travel, the closer I'll get.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've mainly had coffee with people and hosted. But I love any chance I get to surf!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I started hosting people back in 2005 through my roommate from a different site called Hospitality Club when I was living in Mexico. The short time I was able to host was cut off by the Egyptian Revolution, but hopefully tourism will pick up again!
Interests
Traveling, learning languages, talking politics/current events, learning in general, going to the gym, ocassional video games and another nerdy stuff I'm too embarrassed to mention (ie- listening to NPR's "Science Friday")
- coffee
- clubbing
- politics
- video games
- traveling
- history

Music, Movies, and Books
Huge Hayao Miyazaki fan (again, a little nerdy). Although I enjoy an occasional popcorn flick, I tend to like movies that make you think or carry a message about society.
I tend to like a wide variety of music, usually picking the best songs from each category. I've become a huge fan of Spotify because it helps me discover awesome artists I'm surprised I've never heard of. I get made of because sometimes I even listen to video game music ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been fortunate enough to stay in Egypt during the revolution and witness history in the making. I wouldn't trade it for anything! (Check out my pictures on the left side bar!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I have learned that couchsurfing in Egypt is *much* different than other places I've traveled. Be careful because there are many people who have hijacked the site and are looking for foreign girls or to make money off of you. Just be careful and know that you can't always assume people have the best intentions here, *even* if they are really nice. (Pretending to be your friend is a common method to trick foreigners.) You might not necessarily be in danger, but you just won't find the authentic CS experience you were hoping for (and you might get stolen from too). When you look at someone's profile, look not only at their references but how long they've been on this site. (I had an experience with a guy who used the site to make money off of CSers and quickly accumulated many vouches by being very friendly and pressuring people to give him vouches.) Just be aware of this, be true to your intuition and you'll be fine.
