About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The world is big. Let's go.
ABOUT ME
I am a lover of travel, culture, teaching, camping, hiking, counseling, and having fun. I am a follower of Christ and believe that He has created beauty worth seeing! I teach English and Creative Writing at a local high school and I am a summer director at Camp Rockmont for Boys in Black Mountain, NC in the summer vacation months.
PHILOSOPHY
I live life to bring joy, love, and happiness to others. We are relational beings with a need to reach out to others, to have community, and to experience life with one another. Couchsurfing is a great way to do that and to live life just a little deeper- just a little richer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have hosted, although I haven't surfed as often. I have had plenty of nice people provide hitchhikes and places to sleep along the Appalachian Trail. People are great, and the stories people share make life a little more interesting.
Interests
Hiking, traveling, eating, exploring, reading, football.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love mumford, avett, the oh hellos, needtobreathe, of monsters and men, and generally anything with a good banjo, accordion, or violin/cello.
Lord of the Rings, Through Painted Deserts, Blue LIke Jazz, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Great Gatsby
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen the poverty of Haiti, the huge crowds of China, the mountains of Ecuador, and the interesting people of the Appalachian Trail. The one thing I have learned is that there are amazing people with amazing stories who are waiting at every stop along the way.
Teach, Learn, Share
I was a History major at Mississippi State University. I teach English and Creative Writing in high school, and I have a lot of great stories my students have gifted me :). I love history, sports, art, architecture, theology, and a whole lot of random stuff too. Some of the best conversations happen on the back porch with a beer in hand.
