Présentation
À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
Travel to more than 35 countries before I turn 35
ABOUT ME
I'm an Australian, a vegan, and a traveller. Until September 2014 I was working in sustainability in London, and I've recently resigned and am travelling Europe, Asia and perhaps elsewhere, and doing some distance education.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm not sure I have a pithy personal philosophy statement. I used to work for a company whose motto was "Change the world, have fun, make money", that was a fairly good one but I can't lay claim to it and it's not perfectly mine or sums me up
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm trying to make the world a slightly better place, and also seeking to discover how to do this most effectively. I'm also trying to enjoy the world. Like the E.B. White quote "I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day"
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few couchsurfers
Centres d'intérêt
I'm interested in veganism, sustainability, the environment, animal rights

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Books: Polonius: "What do you read, my lord?" Hamlet: "Words, words, words". My all time favourite is 1984 by George Orwell. I've read a lot of Palahniuk, Houellebecq, Bukowski and Coetzee lately but don't hold it against me and don't ask me to pronounce their surnames. I've also been reading Cormac McCarthy and I can pronounce that so I'd have led with that if you were asking me in person.
Music: "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture", Frank Zappa once said. So I won't try to describe my taste, but I like good music of almost any genre and often go to concerts.
Movies: I prefer plot to an enormous special effects budget. Favourites include Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Fight Club, Annie Hall, A Clockwork Orange, Lost in Translation, There Will Be Blood, Delicatessen, Dead Man, The Apartment. And Pink Flamingos made me feel physically ill and yet I really want to see it again?!
Art (I'm unilaterally adding this category): Goya, Courbet, Schiele, Soutine, Beckmann, Debuffet, Bacon, Freud, Twombly, Saville.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I think I'm one of two people who could say they've voluntarily sat in a cage for over six months - in 2007 I did a project to raise awareness of the conditions of caged egg-laying hens called the Human Battery Cage, we sat in those cages in public places around Australia for most days of the week for 7 months straight.
