Teach, Learn, Share
Some people view this community as a place to find a free place to stay while traveling abroad and nothing more. To me, it's more about meeting people, finding common interests, making meaningful connections and having fun! I really enjoy sharing my place and showing visitors around my neighborhood if they have time.
I've hosted a few guests that don't share that same mindset. They change requests without notifications, end up being no show, or have zero communication until they show up at the front door wanting to check-in. I just ask that you respect my time as much as I would yours by communicating clearly and following through with requests.
If you are visiting my city and would like to stay at my place, I hope that you view the couchsurfing experience in the same light that I do.
