About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To learn as much as I can about all the ways humans can be crazy, dumb, smart, beautiful and vulgar
ABOUT ME
I simply love life, and everything else stems from that.
I try to do new things, and squeeze as much meaning as I can out of life. I'm crazy at times. I have been known to go streaking during some of Texas' apocalyptic thunderstorms, and dance around in pink short shorts on for a crowded talent show. I can rap in French and have long, wild hair. My friends often have to ask me to stop yelling because I talk so loud when excited. My self-consciousness and fear of making a fool of myself are both at near-zero levels. It's fun.
It's not all wild though. On an average free day, I bike along the river to my favorite coffeehouse, where I spend hours talking to people, reading or simply sitting. I like taking my time. I often take off my shoes and walk in the river, and get my feet as muddy as possible. Then I'll bike to the hill for the sunset. If it rains, I'll open the window to listen.
I love animals and kids! They are so energetic and sincere.
Physics is my passion because of its elegance and profundity. The world in all its absurdity fascinates me: I can't learn enough about people, languages and politics.
I get extremely excited when I meet new people, so if you're interested in meeting a crazy-haired pink-wearing weirdo who'd be happy jumping in a river or having a dance party or arguing politics over a cup of coffee at midnight, don't be surprised if I knock you over with joy!
PHILOSOPHY
I measure my life by how much I learn, how many people I help, and how much ice cream I eat. I'm doing alright on that last one.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Vonnegut, Lem, Camus. I like books that highlight the ridiculousness of the world. David Sedaris is the funniest writer alive. I also like Jules Verne and Philip K Dick
Music: I've found a fertile niche at the intersection of indie rock, psychedelic, and synthpop that is my musical home. Favorite bands include La Femme, Allah-Las, Tame Impala, Miike Snow, Neon Indian and Bonobo. I also love Les Cowboys Fringants for their philosophical lyrics. Also Ed Sharpe, the Beatles, Arcade Fire and others.
Movies: The Royal Tenenbaums (Wes Anderson is a god), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971 version), Memento, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Waking Ned Devine, Amélie, The Big Lebowski, A Clockwork Orange, Apocalypse Now
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
If amazing means unusual, then getting lost for nine hours overnight in White Sands National Park
Teach, Learn, Share
If you can teach me something about science or languages, I'll be ecstatic. Songs in other languages are especially appreciated! Please teach me to cook.
I can teach you a song or two (I'm horrible at singing but love it anyway), maybe a dance move, or how to throw a frisbee well!
