About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find out more about myself through exploring, getting out into the world

ABOUT ME

I'm a student at University of British Columbia and lived in Residence for three years, but I´m currently backpacking around Europe until Christmas, stopping in Germany, Czech Republic, UK, Belgium, Netherlands and France. I hate to let a warm day outside go to waste. I´ve been through Canada and spent a few months in Quebec, I was in Belize for the first half of September and went to Milwaukee and New York in the summer. I try to speak a little German but fail pretty miserably, and my french is passable. I can juggle, walk on my hands and do a rubik´s cube. My secret hope is to become a street performer but I wouldn´t be able to take the adoring fans.

PHILOSOPHY

I live to learn and discover what´s around me, what makes people who they are and why they have come to this place. The thought that everything is random is too inexplicable for me to believe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I´m trying to interact with anyone around me and pass on any information I can. My attempts at organic farming have slipped through so far but I would love to get people on the band wagon.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I´ve been hosted in Milwaukee and Vancouver when I wasn´t living there, and have met up with some couchsurfers from around Vancouver. When I come back to school in January my place will be open to anyone who´s active and wants to head to the Grouse Grind or run on through some forest trails.

Interests

I love getting outdoors, running, hiking, biking, swimmng. I'm trying to get into Triathlons right now. Any chance to practice my french, listen to some music, see a movie. See exotic places, go camping. Sports in general are always enjoyable. I'm mediocre at most of them but I love ping pong, squash, volleyball, football. I can juggle a bit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of Radiohead, The Strokes, Dave Matthews Band, The Bad Plus and I´m trying to get more into older jazz.
I like Stanley Kubrick movies and can´t stand RomComs, I think The Simpsons is pure genius until the tenth or eleventh season.
I´m not ashamed to say I love the book The Time Traveler´s Wife. The movie looks terrible and I refuse to let it ruin my perception of the real story.
Old fasioned detective novels are always a fantastic read, Spenser is by far my literary hero.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snorkeling in Belize was an incredible experience. I chased after turtles for awhile, and they just paid no attention to us. They had such animated expressions and eyes just rolling towards you while still eating the whole time. We had a group of sharks swim right through us and even saw a fish and eel fight over a half-eaten conch. Although I got sea sick and the guide laughed at me.

Teach, Learn, Share

In two hours I can teach anyone how to complete a Rubik´s Cube, and could even show someone the basics of juggling. If anyone has any desire to talk about Canada I could go on for hours.
I´m a lot happier to let people talk about themselves and where they came from, what brought them to that spot. Family history is always so interesting to me.
I can walk on my hands and could try to show people how, but I really want to learn how to do a backflip. Man, that would be awesome. Also I would love to practice my French and even German and Spanish. Don´t expect much though.
