About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Pants! Wait no, to see as much and to meet as many folks as I can before I die.
ABOUT ME
I'm a friendly, quiet, relatively intelligent guy with a lot of interests. My girlfriend Gwendolyn is the extrovert of the 2 of us, funny and fun to talk to. She has 2 young teen kids and I've become "Fajha" as they call me. While they won't be part of our couchsurfing adventures, they definitely impact who we are.
We perform together as The Pickled Punk Sideshow, a circus freakshow troupe I founded many moons ago. The me you see on stage is not the me you meet in person. I get all my crazy out on stage :) We don't perform as often as we used to and mostly just use it as an excuse to travel and play with cool people. In the past we've played shows with Rev Horton Heat, Agnostic Front, DRI, lots of other sideshows and bands.
We almost always travel with bikes. I've been very active in the cycling community here in Amarillo and like to explore on bike whenever possible. It'd be very cool to meet other riders (MTB, road, casual, whatever)
Neither of us are big drinkers. Gwen especially limits herself to only a few drinks when she does partake, and I'm pretty low key about it as well.
PHILOSOPHY
I suppose my philosophy in life can be boiled down to tribe building. Find ways to relate outside your normal interests, overcome the "Facebookization" of our culture (relationships based on picking and choosing interests and beliefs that mesh with your own)and the whole world opens up.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I spent my 20s booking and performing indie/punk shows, and while this is my first time using this site, my couch was always full of stinky musicians that were traveling through. We might start hosting a bit but now that we have kids it does get trickier. We still often host traveling performers outside the confines of this site and they take priority (it's family, after all).

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a ridiculous book collection http://www.librarything.com/home/Drew_Blood
I used to joke that I only liked movies with whispering and subtitles, but I have kids in the house now so I watch what I get a chance to watch..usually documentaries about dinosaurs :/
Top 10 TV shows: Twin Peaks, The Wire, BSG, The Tick Animated, Veronica Mars, The Prisoner, Carnivale, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Disinformation
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was in New Orleans the year before Katrina hit, and the city awed me completely. I fell in love with riding everywhere, being near water and magic, feeling the bayou just barely held at bay. Of course, when the storm hit, it added a whole other aspect to the experience. I'd love to go back and see how the city has rebuilt.
I'm most at peace in the forest. I grew up in north western Montana, about 13 miles from Glacier National Park. It's not really traveling, since I lived there, but my memories of living in the highest points of the Rockies leave me awed. Any time I can get near mountains, water, and trees, I get that same feeling.
