ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Drew, a journalist covering West Africa, a 26-year-old conversationalist, and a lover of food, especially food where you eat the eyes. I live in Dakar, travel frequently, love to meet up over wine or beer and discuss The Way Things Are. Used to live in New York City. Big fan of bad Hollywood movies and music you hear at night on the radio. We'd make great friends. I feel like I like you already. We should do this more often!

What else? My fiancée lives with me in Dakar. She's an excellent painter of water colors and composer of poems. She's one of the world's experts in the differences/similarities between Amish country and West Africa, really. My favorite place I ever lived is Ghana, and maybe after that, New Orleans. I speak French, Wolof, and Twi. Happy to meet you!

If I host you, bring me a piece of art. It can be something you drew on the back of an airplane napkin, an whatzit you picked from a scrap heap, a $6 million masterpiece, or some conceptual media piece that will joggle my senses and force neighborhood stray cats to wail. It'd be cool to have a wall chocked with things couch surfers drew, like a museum of previous guests.
