Hi we're Jake & Connie, 2 outdoor adventure/travel junkies who call Calgary, Alberta home. We currently took some time off work to go explore the world. We started by backpacking around South America for 5 months and have been loving every minute of it!

We are avid hikers and rock-climbers, and while at home we spend a lot of time in the Rocky Mountains, which is just amazing. We've both separately backpacked our way across Europe. Since then we have gone scuba diving, caving and jungle trekking in Belize and explored Shanghai and Xi'an.

We have greatly enjoy hosting fellow travelers, showing them around Calgary and taking day trips with them into the mountains. It has always been great hear about other people's adventures and experiences. And we look forward to meeting many interesting people as we travel. We think that the best way to travel is with the people who actually live there. It's a simple experience to see the monuments and landscapes of another place, but it is a totally new world if you get to know the culture and the people.

We love the idea of meeting new people from all over the world and getting to expand our horizons. Having the chance to get to know people of all backgrounds and from all cultures is an opportunity that cannot be passed up. We hope to meet many like-minded people!

Music, Movies, and Books

Jake: Yes please! I like to think I'm well read on current affairs in the world and I also am a big fan of history and fiction. My musical tastes are quite wide, with a strong amount of Classic Rock being my base.

Connie: Huge fan of movies, of all kinds. As for books, I recently finished the Game of Thrones series, as well as a few new SciFi finds. I enjoy music, listen to a bit of everything but I'm terrible at keeping track of which artists sings it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is work in progress and it always will be.

Skydiving right in the middle of the Rocky Mountains would have to be up there. Swimming and diving with sharks in Belize and French Polynesia another. They were nurse and blacktip sharks, so pretty much harmless to humans but even so, they were still 6-7 feet long swimming an arm's reach from us - so still terrifying for anyone afraid of sharks (Connie! lol).
