Music, Movies, and Books
In terms of music I listen to a lot of dub reggae and roots reggae, of which I have managed to get a large collection onto mp3. Having been a student in London I enjoy grime etc. by default but for a sunday morning check out the "Blu Mar Ten Music Podcast"
A few documentaries I like are "My Country, My country", "King of Kong", "The Act of Killing", "Whore's Glory" and "Crumb".
As for movies "Rockers" is one of my favourites as well as "Do the Right Thing" or "Moon" or "Dallas Buyers Club" or "The Great Beauty". Check out Zizek's "Perverts guide to Ideology" if you get the chance.
As with everyone I don't read as much as I should do or as much as I admit to. "One hundred years of solitude" is a great novel, another I like is "Disgrace"
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been lucky to experience a fair amount; I have walked along the shores of lake Khovsgol, celebrated holi in the pink city, swum amongst fish in the Thai sea, drunk chai with strawberries in the Cameron Highlands, been a "carnie" around North Queensland, shared a bong in Santa Cruz with my sister, drunk fisherman's wine in a home on Brac, joked with strangers in Tabriz, cycled with friends into Tehran, danced to Jamiroquai in Montenegro... Fingers crossed there will be many more stories to tell!
