About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel as many roads, sample as many beers, and listen to as much of the blues as I can.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in Northern Idaho in an amazing place with nature everywhere. Shortly after graduating high school was a 4-year enlistment in the Air Force. I was stationed in AZ, became a motorcyclist, and decided to stay for school. After graduating, I moved up to Wisconsin for a year (Madison), and then came back.
I consider myself the most fortunate person I know. I have food, shelter, a great family, amazing friends, the best dog in the world (so I like to think), beer to drink, and music to listen to.

PHILOSOPHY

I am happy and do not believe in stress.
Also, if one begins and ends the day with a pickle, it will usually turn out well!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have found a place in the Lake Tahoe area in Kings Beach.  I will be working at a ski resort for the winter and plan to snowboard and participate in other outdoor activities.  As well as brew beer!  I have an extremely small studio, but could host one or two people.  It is a great place to visit and ski or ride!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The weekend I found out about CSing was amazing. Perhaps this was a fateful event. The evening before I learned of CS I rolled into Zion Nat'l Park just before sunset. As I was standing and looking at the scenery with my mouth open and in awe, a fellow riding couple stopped to say hello. I didn't have a place to stay, and all campgrounds were full. The couple offered a room and I took it. They hosted very generously and fed me very well. Thank you Dukes! The next day on the Zion shuttle bus I heard a coupld talking about CSing.com. We spoke for a while and when I got home from the trip I promptly set up an account.

Not necessarily in that order.
Also: brewing beer, cooking, eating, traveling, good conversation, camping, bicycling, reading, backpacking, hiking, people, writing, dancing, snowboarding, hopefully someday soon learning another language.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A sunset in the Swiss Alps. This would not have happened had I not slept through my stop after a long day of snowboarding. I was "let off" at a very small chalet and was able to purchase a delicious beer just in time to watch this spectacle. Truly amazing.
